A family run business trading for over 45 years and specialising in agricultural engineering, run by John Thistlethwaite, with his son, Graham, working alongside him.

Problem
JT Universal had no way of managing their accounting processes effectively and they were using a paper-based accounting system. They found themselves with cashflow issues, lack of accurate financial reporting and analysis and no time to chase debts.

Goal
To spend less time on paperwork and enable John to spend more time on the job he loves.

Solution
We provided a complete accounting function providing accounts preparation and tax returns, bookkeeping, payroll, bank reconciliations, VAT returns, credit control. We implemented Xero combined with Receipt Bank to provide faster paid invoices due to online invoicing and automatic reminders.

Impact
There was a drop in outstanding payments and debts, and the integrated accounting process resulted in a reduction of unnecessary paperwork.
